Stone crushers are used in mining and cement to grind rock and coarse material into industrially smaller gravel or particles for disposal or to make stone aggregate or powder. Stone production lines may use a range of different types of crushers to reduce particles to different grades. These include jaw crushers, cone crushers and impact hammer crushers. All crushers use bearings as part of their mounting configuration. For example, jaw crushers typically use spherical roller bearings to support radial loads and misalignment while operating at moderate speeds and loads.
Hammer crushers which have high speed conditions with variable loads use spherical roller bearings that can handle radial loads and shaft misalignment. Contamination can cause bearing damage or metal-to-metal wear from inadequate lubrication or the use of the wrong viscosity of oil. Crusher lubrication systems enable operators to monitor the oil regularly, especially when demanding equipment operating conditions can cause sudden changes in performance. Crusher lubrication systems employ flow alarms that monitor the flow of lubricant through the process and sound an alarm at minimum flow conditions.
